Planteria & Garden Care
With over 2 acres of committed space, our planteria and garden care departments cover everything you would possibly need to bring your dream garden to life.
From germinating your own to skipping the wait and buying specimen/established plants, essentials for plant support, pots, tools, fences, trellis, chemicals, feed and weed to decoration, water features, ornaments and treating/feeding the birds and wildlife.
Here at Sandhill we don’t stop at stocking all of your garden and plant needs, our experienced and friendly staff will always be happy to assist and offer advice on all that they can.
Whether you are looking for an experienced second opinion or need help as a complete beginner from the ground up (pun intended) We will walk you through every step until you leave with all the knowledge needed to go on with your garden with confidence.
Germination & Propagation
Our plant care section is set up to take the stress and uncertainty out of what should be a joyous and fulfilling experience and make growing your own a breeze.
Everything you need to get started ready to mix and match to suit your space with options for electric, temperature regulated propagation, greenhouse heating, watering, feed, compost and conditioners to give your plants the very best start. However, a setup wont get you very far without seeds and bulbs.

Seedlings & Kinder Plants
If you are looking to bypass the seeds and bulbs, Sandhill offers plants from the earliest stages. In late winter we stock our kinder range of basket and bedding plants with varieties you wont see on our shop floor moving in to spring as more established plants for those that want a truly unique spring/summer garden the envy of your neighbours.
In addition to our kinder range we also provide multi packs of plug plants moving in to spring with everything you would need for a perfectly colour and height balanced hanging basket or trough. Moving in to winter we have single bulbs of a wide variety of ever popular varieties providing colour to gardens year round.
Annuals, Perennials, Alpines & Climbers
For a safer bet for success with the benefit of still getting to see your garden grow and fill out over the seasons, we have a huge variety of annuals and perennials year round on competitive multibuys and special offers which over the years have rarely changed. Our pack bedding comes in packs of 4, 6 and 9 and are all £3.49 each or 4 for £12. 1L perennial pots are 3 for £12 and 9cm 4 for £10, the price of which have changed once in the last 1 and a half decades to keep prices low for our loyal customers.
All of these cover a huge variety of plants from growing over 1 meter tall to carpeting the ground level with stunning flowers and foliage. Trailers growing down to the floor and climbers spanning across archways framing the entry to your personal Eden. Adaptable space fillers to big and bold centrepieces.
Everything you could want in a full and vibrant garden can be found in our mix and match making it easy and cost effective to build a diverse garden blooming with colour, texture and fragrance. We also stock fully established stunners of filled baskets and large pots ordered in and even custom made by our green thumbed staff and stock 2L, 3L, 5L and even larger pots for perennials, alpines, evergreens and so on, all varying from the conditional to the adaptable to suit any garden space.
Truly, whatever you need for your garden if your vision stems (again, pun intended) from colour, fragrance, size, yield, foliage, practical or whatever it may be, we have what youre looking for.
Trees, Shrubs & Specimen Plants
For those that have ‘bigger’ ideas and want them here and now, we hear you and we’ve got you sorted. Willows, boarder builders, Fruit, Dwarf and patio through to 2+ meter tall trees ready to pot or plant and specimen plants in as large as 250+ litre pots! From the very early stages all the way to the biggest and best you can find them all right here.
Feed and Care, Weed, Pests and Pesticides
Our sizeable chemical department ranges from general purpose to specialty in all areas, with hundreds of unique products to choose from we will be sure to have what you need to address any situation. If you are new to gardening we appreciate that the vast wall of chemicals, concentrates, tablets, pellets and so on can be intimidating.
That’s why we took time and careful consideration when laying out the products available, labelled and progressing across the rows to transition between feeds, boosts, conditioners and care products through to the pesticides, weed and deterrents tackling anything from mites and infections through to larger animals.
We have also separated and clearly marked where possible to separate the general purpose from the more specialty products and chosen supplies that not only provide the very best quality but make it clear to understand when and how the product should be used taking all the second guessing out of what you will need.

We are always fully stocked with an ample supply and variety of compost, grits, sands, stones and so forth. Our compost selection covers all stages of plant development and needs Including water retaining for your pots and baskets, ericaceous conditioned for acid loving plants, john innes seed, 1, 2 and 3 for all stages of larger plant development, seed and cutting, rose, tree and shrub, top soil, manure, wood chippings, grow bags and more.
We also stock a large selection of altico grits, gravels, sands, stone chippings, pebbles and even large rockery stones for ponds and alpines all in a selection of colours and sizes.
